Steve Malfatti, President (Term expires 2010)
Steve and his wife, Linda moved to Woodmoor in 2002 and have been in the Colorado Springs area since 1986. They moved to Woodmoor, because they were accustomed to living in areas that offered a good space between houses. They also didn’t care for some of the covenant conditions and restrictions imposed by other developments. Although Woodmoor has restrictions, Steve believes it also has a balance between individual rights and community standards which makes Woodmoor a great community to live in. Steve retired from the Army as an Instructor Pilot with 26 years of service.  He has owned and operated an Ornamental Iron business that manufactured security doors and window guards and is currently a contractor at Fort Carson running Airfield Flight Operations  He also manages an investment property company.  Steve has a BA in Business from Chaminade University and a MBA from Regis University.  He believes his business and management skills will be an asset to the WIA and that his expertise in the investment property business, coupled with his business knowledge and military experience, has prepared him to recognize distressing conditions well in advance and provides him with a multitude of options to deal with these situations. Steve’s current focus will be to maintain a good balance of community needs with individual rights and he will always be open to your concerns and represent you to the best of his ability.

Terry Holmes, Vice President (Term expires 2009)
Terry and his family have enjoyed calling Woodmoor home since 1995.  After serving 4 years in the Army Special Forces as an electronic warfare specialist, Terry started his telecommunication career at a cable TV company in his hometown of Muskegon , Michigan .  Terry went on to build and manage other cable TV companies across the country for the next 15 years.  Looking for a different challenge, he became involved in the wireless industry in 1991, where he eventually became senior vice president of the American Telecasting, a Colorado Springs-headquartered public company with operations in 54 cities.  Terry now works from home as a telecommunications consultant, allowing ample time for family, school activities, golf and WIA.  Terry brings a wealth of knowledge to WIA from his many years of managerial experience of both public and private companies, along with his many assignments on company and association boards and community groups around the country.

We have two children: Andy (3 in Nov 07) and Maria (1 in Dec 07). I was born in Wash. I am a graduate of Michigan Tech with a B.S. in Computer Science, have a Masters from George Mason University, and have worked for MITRE, which is a DoD not-for-profit public interest technology company, since 1995. I specialize in IT Service process improvement and information assurance (commonly called "Computer Security"). Amy Smith and her family have lived in Woodmoor for over six years.  Amy began working with WIA’s forestry group as a volunteer Tree Monitor and also contributed to Woodmoor’s new Forest Stewardship and Community Wildfire Protection Plan.  Amy’s Bachelor’s degree in Biology, her Master’s degree in Forensic Science and her service as a Board Member of a local non-profit Open Space organization make her a good fit for the Director of Forestry position.  Amy’s work history has included jobs in the biotechnology, law enforcement and forensic fields.   All of the professional positions she has undertaken have allowed her to gain tremendous skills in leadership, teamwork, problem solving and analytical decision-making that will prove beneficial to her position on the board.
