Board of Directors - Members

The WIA Board of Directors is comprised of volunteer Woodmoor property owners who are nominated and elected by fellow owners. Each member serves a three-year term. Woodmoor owners depend on these volunteers, who dedicate their time and expertise, to ensure that the association fulfills it governing documents, and maintains, protects and preserves the community and its common areas in a manner that protects and enhances each Woodmoor owner’s property values.

Chuck Maher, President and Director of Forestry (Term expires 2012)
One of things I have learned in my 20 plus year career as a certified financial planner is that people who know what they want out of life and financially commit to that vision, succeed more often than not. In the hand full of years that I have live in Woodmoor, I have found it to be a truly wonderful place to live. But, it could be so much more. What could we do, if we committed to the future? Parks? Trails? Social opportunities? The potential is limited only by our imaginations. I have served on a number of homeowner associations. The ones that I found most successful committed to the future. Unfortunately, far too often, so many boards seem to exist to serve individual egos, petty self interest, and alienating the community. I do not want to see Woodmoor go down that path.

Jim Hale, Vice President
(Term expires 2013)

My wife and I moved to Woodmoor in 2003.  After retiring as an Air Force colonel, I worked in the aerospace and defense industry as an operations manager and Vice President of Business Development.  I've been a Woodmoor Architectural Control Committee member for almost seven years.  I ran as a candidate because I want to become more involved in shaping the future of Woodmoor and to protect the values that drew my family to Woodmoor.  I believe Woodmoor needs a five-year long-range strategic plan.  I believe we must protect Woodmoor's "crown jewels" which are our excellent Woodmoor Protective Service, our Professional Office Staff, and the right mix of governance documents.

Jim Wilson, Secretary (Term expires 2011)
Jim and his wife of 39 years have been residents of Woodmoor since 1994. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corp and his business career has encompassed being a Financial Representative from 1972 to 2007 and a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Board member of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors in Colorado Springs, a Board member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (Rocky Mountain Chapter), a Board member of the Estate Planning Council in Colorado Springs and a Life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Jim’s current volunteer activities include the Tri Lakes Center for the Arts and the Nonprofit Council of the Tri Lakes Chamber of Commerce. Formerly, Jim served as Chair of the Metropolitan Board - Pikes Peak Regional YMCA, Chair of the Advisory Board - Tri Lakes YMCA Chair of the Board of the Arthritis Foundation - Pikes Peak Chapter. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and did graduate studies in business at American University in Washington D.C. Jim is concerned about the ability of the board to serve members of our association, given the difficulty that it has in arriving at consensus and hopes to serve as a voice of moderation.

Paul Lambert, Director of Public Safety (Term expires 2013)
Our family moved to Woodmoor in 1998 after retirement from the military.  For the past 11 years, I have been employed in the Aerospace Defense Industry.  I served on the Architectural Control Board of Woodmoor for several years before becoming a Board Member in 2002 - 2005 when I was appointed to replace a Board Member that had resigned.  I was then elected to the Board, first as Secretary and then as Director of Public Safety. I have recently changed jobs and have more time to volunteer to support the community. I think my past experience on the Board will be valuable to help the Woodmoor Community chart the direction of the Community in the years ahead.
