Adopt a Neighborhood
The “Adopt a Neighborhood” program requires volunteers that sign up to cover an area in their neighborhood they are committed to keeping clean and free of litter. These volunteers call in the boundaries they will assume responsibility for. This means organizing regularly scheduled cleanups as needed (and weather permitting) throughout the year. If needed, WIA will supply trash bags, orange vests and road signs to each group that notifies us in advance of their clean-up day. It is our hope that we will eventually get enough volunteers we will be able to cover all of Woodmoor and keep it looking litter and weed free year around, resulting in less work and more fun, at our annual Great American Cleanup.
So far we have the following teams supporting this worthwhile program:
Current Volunteers
- Cub Scout Pact 117- Woodmoor Drive from the Woodmoor Barn to Fire Station
- St. Mathias Episcopal Church Youth Group - Furrow Rd from the church to Lazy Summer Drive
- Michelle Thompson and Dawn Lervik - Regatta and Lower Lake Road
- Dave and Nona Overcast - Fairplay from 105 to the 4 way stop at Caribou
- Stan and Betsy Beck - Autumn Way from Woodmoor Drive south to the end of the road
- WIA Board of Directors - Woodmoor Drive from Peoples National Bank to Woodmoor Fire Station
- Diana Woods, Roni Fuster and Sue Carnahan - Augusta Drive
- The Joe Mitchell Family - Hidden Springs Glen
- Allan Reid – upper 3/4s of Caribou Drive West from Cloverleaf
- Eric and Mary Simmons – corner of Woodmoor and Furrow Drive
- Diane Betts – Winding Hills Road to surrounding streets
- Mike Hess – Fairplay from Higby to Scrub Oak
We hope to see more individuals and groups sign up for this worthwhile cause. Please call (488-2693) or e-mail the Woodmoor office (wia@woodmoor.org) and volunteer for your "piece of Woodmoor" in this worthwhile effort.
