Mail Theft - update
WPS has had numerous reports of mail theft which has been occurring in the central part of Woodmoor and opened mail has been found on the Woodmoor Pines golf course. Both outgoing and incoming mail has been reported stolen. A vehicle described as a small, older, reddish colored pick up truck with a bed rack has been seen in the area when stolen mail was found. It’s unknown if this vehicle has anything to do with the thefts but we would like to know the license plate number of this vehicle. If you see a vehicle matching this description, please call WPS to respond or write the license number down and call WPS at 499-9771.
These incidents are being investigated by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the US Postal Service. If you suspect that any mail may have been taken from your box, please contact WPS, EPSO and the Postal Inspectors Office immediately.
It is highly recommended that you do not place any outgoing mail in your mailbox but deliver it directly to the post office or drop in a locked mail receptacle. It is also recommended that delivered mail be retrieved from your box as soon as possible after delivery.
In the early morning hours of April 5th, numerous Woodmoor residents in the North West portion of Woodmoor were victims of obscene graffiti being painted on the exterior of houses, vehicles, and garages. If you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact WPS at 499-9771.
WPS is continuing to receive a few reports of “Criminal Trespass Auto” complaints (vehicle break-ins) throughout Woodmoor. Items taken include change, CD’s, sunglasses, and purses or wallets. All vehicles were left outside and unlocked. If you leave your vehicle outside, please make sure the vehicle is locked at all times.
